Grace Hefner Edwards, 96, of Demorest went to be with the Lord June 9, 2022. She is survived by a large thankful and loving family. She was born Nov. 28, 1925.

She was preceded by her husband, W.L. Edwards; and parents Golyer Vassar and Azzie Missouri Hefner, and 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by four children, Lamar Edwards (Dee), Jean Edwards (Larry Taylor), Lynne Edwards (Richard Holden), Anita Wright (Tony), Grandson Mark Edwards (Lisa); granddaughters, Nicole Queen (Gary), Jeanette Mull (Allen), and Savannah Davis (C.T.); grandson, Cameron Cook (Jennifer); granddaughter and 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, and many caring nieces and nephews that maintained close contact with her through the years.

Moma Grace and W.L. raised their family in the Blue Creek area of White County where they operated a chicken and cattle farm. Grace was an integral part of the farming operation and she made sure that an active Church Life was a big part of her family’s growth. Moma Grace was also a prolific seamstress, leaving behind many heirloom quilts and embroidery items that will be cherished by generations to come. She was a caring and loving mentor to her family and a multitude of friends who will richly remember her, and God will surely put a gold star by her name in the Big Book.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 11, 2022, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Mr. Mark Edwards and the Rev. Cameron Cook will officiate.
