Nancy King Maxwell (77) died in her home in Rabun Gap, Ga. on April 10, 2021.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde E Maxwell, Jr., two daughters, Katheryne Maxwell (James A.) Trammell of Greer, S.C. and Elizabeth Maxwell (Hughes) Simpson of College Station, Tx.   Surviving grandchildren are Maxwell Trammell, Mary Katheryne Trammell, and William Simpson.  She is also survived by her sister, Claire McMillan and brother James McMillan, III.

She graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1965 with a BSN and served as the head nurse in the neuro -psychiatric ward of the Veterans Hospital in Augusta until her marriage in 1972.

Nancy never knew a stranger and befriended all she encountered.  She dearly loved her family, her church and community, her Clemson Tigers, and all animals with a special place in her heart for all dogs who magically found their way to her home for a wonderful and full life.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Rabun Gap Presbyterian Church in Rabun Gap, Ga.  The family requests that memorials be made to the Mary Ann Morris Animal Shelter (M.A.M.A.S.), 254 Slow Pitch Road, Bamberg, S.C.  29003.
