Mr. Robert E. Blalock, 80, of Palmetto, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021. He was born September 28, 1941, in Clayton, Georgia, son of the late Fred Blalock, Florabell English Cannon, and stepfather, Irvin Spud Cannon, Mr. Blalock was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Blalock, son, Joel Blalock, and a sister, Irene Queen.
He was an active member of the New Hope United Methodist Church of Palmetto and sang in the church choir. He loved working on the farm, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Russell Blalock of Augusta; daughter-in-law, Marsha Len Blalock of Fayetteville; brother, Tommy Cannon (Tonya); sisters-in-law, Joann Whitley and Sandra Wilson; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and numerous close friends.
The graveside service for Mr. Robert E. Blalock will be held at 2:00, Sunday at New Hope United Methodist Church in Palmetto with Rev. Sollie Hicks officiating.
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made in memory of Mr. Blalock to New Hope United Methodist Church, 7875 Atlanta Newnan Road, Palmetto, GA 30268 (Cemetery Fund).
