Victor York, age 61 of Clayton, passed away on Dec. 2, 2022. Victor was born the son of Marcus Calvin York and Winnie Sue York on Jan. 12, 1961.

Victor was a retired Master Sergeant and served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. His military accomplishments include the following: Air Force Training Ribbon; Air Force Overseas Service; Long Tour Ribbon w/1 device; Air Force Longevity Service Award w/ 4 devices; Combat Readiness Medal w/1 device; Air Force Overseas Service Short Tour Ribbon; National Defense Service Medal w/1 device; Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon; NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon w/ 1 device; Air Force Good Conduct Medal w/ devices; NCO Leadership School.

In his professional life, he worked as a builder in the construction industry. Victor enjoyed being outdoors and he was involved with the search and rescue team. He loved hiking on the Appalachian and Bartram Trails, camping and fishing. He liked to spend time wood working, traveling and spending time with his family, friends.

His son, Michael York, preceded him in death.

His survivors include his loving wife, Nancy York, of the home; his parents, Marcus Calvin York and Winnie Sue McClain York; his son, Daniel York (Casey) of Florida, two brothers, Gregory York (Martha), of Long Creek, S.C., and Tommy York (Kathy) of Clayton, Ga.; one sister, Suzanne Canada (Irvin), of Clayton; two grandchildren, Connor and Jace; Victor is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family received friends on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. A funeral service was held on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kyle Watts officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Victors memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN  38105 or the Wounded Warrior Project 1349 West Peachtree Street NE Suite 1800 Atlanta, GA 30309.
