Allen Elbert Fleming, 71, of Mountain City, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa.

He was born April 10, 1942, in Brasstown, N.C., to the late Rance E. and Susie York Fleming. He was a machine mechanic for Burlington Industries and Fruit of the Loom in the textile industry. He was in the business of raising cattle and was a member of Head of Tennessee Baptist Church.

Allen was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Fleming.

Survivors include: his wife, Maybelle Harkins Fleming of Mountain City; a son, Rance Fleming (Karen) of Mountain City; a daughter, Peggy McDaniel (Johnny) of Mountain City; a brother, Quincy Fleming (Mary) of Anderson, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Sasha, Austin, Michael, Kimberly, Sean, Logan and Megan; and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday at Head of Tennessee Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Cannon and Bryan Alexander officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
