Berma Henry Poole, 75, of Cornelia, passed away Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Stephens County Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born June 26, 1938, in Rabun County to the late Rev. Carl S. Henry and Burel Moore Henry. She attended B.C. Grant Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending the AARP meetings as well as the Sunshine Band meetings at Level Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Poole was preceded in death by her husband, James Telford Poole, and a son, Scott McClure.

Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Robbin McClure of Tiger; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Ricky Simmemon of Alto; sisters and brothers-in-law, Vivian H. (Jack) Davis of Dillard, Janie H. (Eddie) Bingham of Clayton and Jerry H. (Hoyt) Hooper of Cornelia; brothers, Ellis Henry and Vernon Henry, both of Clayton; sisters-in-law, Barbara Robinson and Mozelle Wilbanks, both of Cornelia, and Betty Sue Elrod of Demorest; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rayford and Lillian Poole of Alto; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home in Cornelia with the Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Burial followed at Yonah Memorial Gardens with Ricky Simmemon officiating.
