Corey Joseph Hansen passed away on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was reunited with his father, Michael Hansen, who had gone to be with the Lord when Corey was 4 years old.

Corey was a member of the Rabun County High School Class of 2012 and was currently pursuing his lifelong dreams of becoming a chef by studying Culinary Arts at the Cordon Bleu in Atlanta.

He is survived by: his mother, Christina Hansen of New Oxford, Pa.; sister, Alyssa Hansen of New Oxford; his fiancée, Amanda York and unborn child of Clayton; paternal great-grandparents, Merle and Dorothy Hansen of Omaha, Neb.; paternal grandparents, Janet and Iftikhar Jamil of Sterling, Va., and Steve Hansen of Oklahoma; maternal grandparents, Nickolis Schriver and Barbara Schriver of Hanover, Pa.; Caren Schriver of Smith Station, AL; aunts and uncles, Cindy and Dale Holcomb of Clayton, Brad and M.J. Schriver of Smith Station, Ala., Mark and Keri Lippy of Hanover, Pa., Aliya Jamil of Sterling, Va., and Michelle Hansen of Kentucky; and very special cousins, Zack Moon and Josh Holcomb, both of Clayton, along with numerous cousins.

The family received friends Sunday at Beck Funeral Home. A private memorial services will be held in Pennsylvania at a later date.
