Elick J. Wilburn, 72, a lifelong resident of Clayton, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014, with his loving family by his side.

He was born Nov. 4, 1941 to the late Elick and Reba Wilburn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in by death by three sisters, Fannie Arrowood, Allene Evans and Jewel Henslee.

Elick is survived by: his wife of 40 years, Patricia Wilburn of Clayton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kristy and Jason Roach of Clayton, Tammy and Paul Wheeler of Clayton and Rhonda and Carol McCracken of Clayton; a stepdaughter, Connie Wheeler of Clayton; a son, Perry Wilburn of Clayton; a sister, Geneva Green of Clayton; and brothers-and sisters-in-law, Keith and Vanda Wilburn of Clayton and James and Virginia Wilburn of Clayton; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Tuesday at Rabun County Church of Christ in Tiger with the Rev. McKinley Pate officiating.
