Emily Mae Henderson Perry, 81, of Smoky Mountain Village, Clayton, passed away Monday, Sept. 19, 2011.

She was born in Gaffney, S.C., to the late Perry Waitsel and Ruby Inez Turner Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Turner Henderson, and a very special puppy, Rosie.

Mrs. Perry is survived by: two sisters, Eedeelove Henderson Adams and husband Doug of Rabun Gap and Anna Henderson Thomas of Montgomery, Texas; a special niece and nephew, Allison Adams of Decatur and Brooks and Amanda Adams of Easley, S.C.; a grandniece, Avril Adams; a grandnephew, Calder Adams; other nieces and nephews; and two special dogs, Ginger and Robin.

She was a 42-year administrative assistant at Georgia Power and was a member of Women of Georgia Power. She was active in Atlanta Girls High School class of 1947 alumni events and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at St. James Episcopal Church with the Rev. Stephen Hall officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery in Atlanta.
