Evelyn Watts Mobley passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013.

She was the wife of the late Samuel P. Mobley. Evelyn was one of six children born to the late Hubert D and Ethel Baker Watts of Rabun County. Evelyn graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in home economics. Upon graduation, she moved to Walton County to teach school in Loganville. There she met Sam Mobley, who had returned home from service in the European theater in World War II. The couple married July 6, 1947. In 1952, they moved to Cobb County, where they raised their three children.

She is survived by: an aunt, Adela Baker Cardell Alley of Kennesaw; a sister, Delilah Watts Pitts of Rabun Gap; two sons, Samuel M. Mobley and wife Yvonne Walker Mobley and Robert P. Mobley and wife Bonnie McMurray Mobley; a daughter, Karen E. Mobley Harrison and husband K. Mark Harrison; her grandchildren, Jana Mobley Scoville and husband Jeff Scoville, Timothy Mobley and wife Brooke, Griffin Harrison and wife Beth, Adelitha Harrison Byrnes and husband Michael Byrnes and Alera Harrison; and five great-grandchildren, Mason and Adalyn Scoville, William and Jacob Mobley and Aslyn Byrnes.

A funeral service was held Saturday in the chapel of H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Evelyn’s memory to the Leukemia Society, www.lls.org/aboutlls/chapters/ga/; P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
