Flora Mae Thrift Holcomb, 83, of Tiger, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

She was born May 1, 1929, in Oconee County, S.C., to the late Burt and Nittie Phillips Thrift. She worked in the textile industry at Claybourne Manufacturing for over 30 years and was a member of Tiger Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by three brothers, Raymond, Rance and Ronnie Thrift.

Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne Holcomb and Nannette of Tiger; a daughter and son-in-law, Anita Chivaess and Steve of Tiger; two brothers and their spouses, W.J. Thrift and Wylene of Salem, S.C., and Rufus Thrift and Ann of Seneca, S.C.; two sisters and their spouses, Lois Dixon and Russell of Clayton and Flois Woods and Jessie of Fair Play, S.C.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Long Creek (S.C.) Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Hunnicutt officiating. Burial followed at Long Creek Cemetery.
