He was born on Groundhog Day, Feb. 2, 1934, the youngest of nine children of Jerry Sutton and Elsie Baldree Suttton.
He was preceded in death by: four sisters, Susie Eason, Mary Halliwell, Evelyn Bennett and Lucille Bennett; and three brothers, Aubrey Sutton, Jerry Sutton and Ray Sutton.
He is survived by: his loving wife of 39 years, Helen Coalley Sutton; two children, son Jerry Sutton and wife Elizabeth of Alpharetta and daughter Mikel Sutton Crowley of Marietta; four grandchldren, Caitlin Crowley, Elizabeth Crowley, Madison Sutton and Dempsey Sutton; a brother, Talmadge Sutton and wife Mary Lou of Nashville, Ga.; and numerous nephews, nieces, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were be held Monday at Beck Funeral Home with the Revs. Hal Brady and Larry Cannon officiating.
