Gary James Pollard, 45, of Alto, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014.

Mr. Pollard was born March 25, 1969, in Clayton to the late James and Katherine Davenport Pollard.

He was employed with Habersham County EMS as an EMT with 14 years of service. He also served as assistant fire chief for Baldwin and fire chief with Banks County Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Echols, Stanley Echols, Hoyt Pollard and Tom Pollard.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 10 years, Stacy Trapp Pollard of Alto; daughters and sons-in-law, Ashley and Kevin Masters of Alto and Cassie and Jordan Fincher of Cleveland; daughter, Mariah Jacobs of Alto; sisters, Nell Hobgood of Sandy Springs, Delores Crane of Clayton, Nina Long of Social Circle and Vicki Harmon of Toccoa; brothers, Rick Echols of Cornelia, Ricky Pollard of Waynesville, North Carolina, Terry Pollard of Virginia and James Cresley Pollard of Clayton; and grandsons, Ayden Masters and Abraham Fincher.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Level Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Andy Wallace and Milton Harris, Jack Moody, Jim Wood and the Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Burial followed at Level Grove Cemetery. Full honors were provided by the fire services.

In lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to Patients of the Cancer Center at Southeaster Assistants in Healthcare, Attn: Karen Holladay, 600 Parkway N., Newnan, GA 30265.
