Gordon “Lamar” Lamb, 78, of Livonia, Mich., and formerly of Dillard, died July 4, 2013, at his home.

Lamar was born Nov. 12, 1935, in Scaly Mountain, N.C. He retired from the railroad, was a musician all his life and loved bluegrass music.

Lamar was preceded in death by: his parents, Robert and Myrtle Lamb; and brothers, Larry, Gary and Gerald.

He is survived by: his wife, Kathy; daughters, Theresa Hunt (Steve) and Lisa Dienes (Chris); granddaughters, Ashley and Rachel; grandson, Kyle; brothers, Bud Lamb and Ron Lamb, both of Dillard, and Harold Lamb of Cheyenne, Wyo.; sisters, Maxine Worley of Rochester Hills, Mich., Louisa Gault of Pelzer, S.C., Betty Jones of Tamassee, S.C., Jeanette Duckworth of Pelzer and Karen Ponder of Douglasville; and a multitude of loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral service was held July 10 in Livonia, Mich.
