She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and infant child. She had 40 living relatives and several friends.
Joan was a concert pianist and was the church pianist at Central Heights Baptist Church and Eastside Fellowship Baptist Church, both in Habersham County.
A memorial service was held Saturday at the home of the Rev. John W. Ayers in Cleveland. Steele had prearranged for her body to be cremated, and her ashes was dispensed with at the memorial service
