John Reed Starling

John Reed Starling, 64, of Dillard, passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at his residence.

He was born in Baton Rouge, La., to the late Johnny Reid Starling and Helen Gregorski Starling.

John is survived by: his loving wife, Susan Dupuy Starling; two daughters, Alais Salvador and husband Mark and Amanda Jane Albert; a son, Kyle Albert and wife Susan; a brother, Mark Starling and wife Maggie; a niece, March Starling; grandchildren, Faith, Mya, Alexander and Sophia; and his beloved dog, Tashi.

John graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in engineering and owned one of the six column factories in the United States. He lived a short time in the mountains he loved. He loved working with his hands and building things. John enjoyed studying architecture and caring for his family and friends. He had been recently elected to the executive committee of the Sky Valley Chapel.

A service was held Tuesday at Sky Valley Chapel with Bishop John Erbelding and Deacon Ed Quest officiating.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to Chapel of Sky Valley, 817 Sky Valley Way, Sky Valley, GA 30537 or to one’s Christian place of worship in John’s memory.

The family would like to thank the Sky Valley Chapel and the Falls View Community for their love and support.
