Joyce Patrick Hackett, 94, of Dillard, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 5, 1918, in Conyers to John Harvey and Nellie Florene Wallis Patrick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Roger Walter Hackett; a son, John Roger Hackett; and a grandson, Roger Walter Hackett II.

Mrs. Hackett is survived by: two daughters, Frances Hackett Taylor and husband Raine of Dillard and Jane Hackett Pintar and husband Bill of Decatur, Ala.; a daughter-in-law, Juanita Hackett of Orlando, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She attended Shorter College and after her marriage they lived in Rome for 35 years before moving to St. Simons, where they lived for 30 years. She also resided at the Clary Care Center in Toccoa for several years. Mrs. Hackett enjoyed golf, bridge and walking on the beach. She was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church on St. Simons Island.

Services were held Monday at St. Helena Catholic Church with Father Alvaro Avendano officiating. Ashes will be interred in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Rome.
