She was born in Rabun County to Frank and Montie Rogers Cathey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Dotson.
Lois is survived by: her daughter, Hope Gragg of Mountain City; three grandchildren, Brett Gragg, Tracy Speed and husband Michael, and Robin Welch and her husband, Bill; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Henslee, Will Gragg, Victoria Welch and Kelsey Speed; several nieces and nephews; and a very devoted friend, Jessie Fay Kilby.
Lois taught school in Rabun County for 35 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She loved traveling with her late husband and was a member of Mountain City United Methodist Church.
A memorial service was held Sunday at the Beck Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Richard Wright and Chuck Stutsman officiating.
