Mark Asher Cody, 45, of Baker County, died Thursday, Sept. 26 in Panama City, Fla.

He was born Aug. 7, 1968, in Albemarle, N.C. He graduated from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and was a farm manager at Tarva Plantation. He was a member of Gillionville Baptist Church in Albany.

Mr. Cody was preceded in death by his father, Bill Cody.

Survivors include: his wife, Stacie Houston Cody of Baker County; two sons, Ethan Asher Cody and Dylan Reese Cody, both of Baker County; a daughter, Addie Claire Cody of Baker County; his mother, Carolyn Cody of Mountain City; a sister, Kim Cody James of Scaly Mountain, N.C.; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were held Monday at Gillionville Baptist Church. Burial followed at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in the Springfield community in Early County with the Revs. Tony Haeffs and Rev. Fred Odom officiating.

Active pallbearers were Bruce Henderson, Jacob Paschal, Garrett Jones, Kenneth Deese, Scott Bleckley and Steve Burdick. Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Mitchell, Clay McDaniel, Grady Hodges, Jonathan Becker, Mark Wilkerson, Neil Page, Stephen Williams, Steve Whatley, Buddy Lewis, Chuck Seaton, Freddy Carlisle, Glenn Paschal, Tommy Paschal, Tye Slappey, Wendall Hines, Robert Mixon, Kenny Mac Donaldson, Jack Royal, Dave Buckner, Jason Hines, Joseph Parker, Justin Parker and Lee Green.

Memorials may be made to the Cody Children’s Education Trust Fund c/o Flint Community Bank, P.O. Box 70878, Albany, GA 31708.

Memorial services will be held at Mountain City Methodist Church in Mountain City at a later date.
