Michael “Mike” Andrew Allison, of Dillard, passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Angel Medical Center.

Mike, better known as “Biggun,” was born in Myrtle Creek, Ore., to the late Glenn Jack Allison and Mina Gaddis Allison. Mike was a member of Dillard United Methodist Church and sang in the choir. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved life. Mike was a gentle soul who loved everyone, and everyone loved him.

Mike is survived by: his wife, Katherine Crunkleton Allison of Dillard; a son, Adam Guffey of Cullowhee, N.C.; a daughter, Lee Ann Allison Clemmons of Sylva, N.C.; a brother, David Allison of Rosman, N.C.; two sisters, Tamera Crisp of Cullowhee and Vickie Queen of Mills River, N.C.; four grandchildren, Bailey Guffey, Landry Guffey, Lane Crunkleton and Kody Crunkleton; and a number of brothers-in-law , sisters-in law, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday in the chapel of Beck Funeral Home with the Revs. Doug Altman and Doug Volk officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of choice in memory of Mike Allison.
