Ollie Johnson, 75, of Clarkesville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at a private care facility following a period of declining health.

Mrs. Johnson was born Aug. 23, 1937, in Leeds, Ala., to the late Olvin and Slety Elridge Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Charles Edgar Johnson; and 14 siblings. Mrs. Johnson was an independent personal caregiver. Above all, she was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Johnson was of the Church of God faith.

Survivors include: her daughters and sons-in-law, Clarice and Jud Nichols of Clayton, Janet and Robert Ruledge of Conyers, Angie and Keith Whiten of Clarkesville and Judy and Earl Johnson of Clayton; son and daughter-in-law, Buster and Donna Johnson of Tiger; sons, Daniel Johnson of Clayton, Dennis Johnson of Crossville, Ala., Doug Johnson of Buford and Wade Johnson of Dillard; a sister, Jo Johnson of Loganville; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel in Demorest, with the Revs. James Turpen Sr. and Richard Wright officiating.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 225 Peachtree St., N.E., suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30303.
