He was born April 11, 1928, in Linwood, Pa., to the late Ervin Norman Ward and Margaret White Ward. He was a hospital engineer and served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was of the Protestant religion.
He was survived by: his wife, Darlene Burke Ward of Rabun Gap; two sons, Paul Ward Jr. of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Michael Palmer of Clayton; two daughters, Judy Sipowicz of Summerville, Tenn., and Betty Bliss of Rabun Gap; a brother, Ray Ward of Las Vegas; a sister, Janet Cavaliera of Mount Laurel, N.J.; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated, and a memorial service was held Dec. 28 at Hunter Funeral Home.
