R.A. Hamilton

R.A. Hamilton, 85, of Clayton, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013.

He was a lifelong resident of Rabun County and was the son of the late Milford and Deffie Runion Hamilton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his loving wife, Susie Henry Hamilton; and three brothers, M.J. Hamilton, Willard Hamilton and Levis Hamilton.

R.A. is survived by: two sons, Doug Hamilton and Danny Hamilton, both of Clayton; a sister, Imogene Hamilton English of Clayton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

R.A. worked for Burlington Industries for 29 years as an inspector and enjoyed his grandchildren, his friends at Burnell’s Barber Shop, coon hunting, fishing and working on small engines.

Funeral services were held Friday at Persimmon Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve York officiating. Burial followed at Timpson Creek Cemetery.
