She was born Jan. 15, 1928, in West Frankfort, Ill., then raised in Springfield, Ill. She married her high school sweetheart, Karl Struck, and celebrated their 64th anniversary in June. Shirley was a cook in the Sangamon County School System for many years. She then was a cook for Toddletown Day Care Center. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church in Springfield. In 1978, they moved to Clayton and were thankful to call it home. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and a joy to all the people with whom she came in contact.
She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Price, and stepmother, Marjorie Price.
Survivors include: her husband, Karl Struck of Clayton; daughters, Elaine Platt of Shirley, Ill., Diane Jackson (Dick) of Loomis, Calif., and Nancy McCall (Cecil) of Tiger; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Friday at the Hunter Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Tim Hunnicutt officiating.
