Steve Norris Justus, 59, of the Germany community, Clayton, and affectionately known as “Corn Bread,” died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at Emory University Hospital Midtown in Atlanta.

He was born Nov. 14, 1954, in Rabun County to Norris O. Justus and Elizabeth Gragg. He retired from the textile industry. He was a U.S. Army veteran from the Vietnam War era and was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church.

Steve was preceded in death by: his father, Norris O. Justus; and a daughter, Lindsay Lael Justus.

Survivors include: his mother, Elisabeth Epperson of Canton; a daughter, Stevie Holland (Michael) of Otto, N.C.; a grandson, Brock Holland of Otto; two sons, John Thompson of Hardwick and Mike Thompson of Roswell; five brothers, Tim Justus (Cynthia), Dale Justus (Cindy), Scott Justus (Rhonda), Chris Justus and Donny Justus (Diedra), all of Clayton; and a close companion, Kay York of Clayton.

Funeral services were held Jan. 5 at Mountain Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Cannon officiating. Burial followed at Mountain Grove Cemetery.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Hunter Funeral Home, P.O. Box 653, Clayton, GA 30525, to aid in funeral expenses.
