Violet LeFay Thompson, daughter of the late Ora and Charles Cannon and the late Roy L. Justus, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 20, 1934, in the Persimmon community.

She was preceded in death by: a child, Penny Gay Thompson; a brother, Ray L. Justus; a niece, Paula Ann Phillips; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Kilby and Mr. and Mrs. James Estus Justus.

Survivors include: a daughter, Pamela Kay Thompson of Lakemont; a sister-in-law, Virginia K. Justus; three nieces, Valerie Speed and Karen Alley, both of Rabun Gap, and Beverly Phillips of Hollywood, Md.; a great-nephew, Lucas Speed; a special friend, Tricia Stockton; and many aunts, uncles and friends.

Funeral services were held a Tuesday at Persimmon Baptist Church with the Rev. Madison McCrackin and layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
