Walter William “Bill” Bean, 92, of Clayton, and Newbury, Ohio, passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Holly Hill Nursing Home in Newbury.

He was born Jan. 14, 1920, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Thomas W. and Pearl Hoover Bean. Bill’s proudest moment was being recognized as the first Eagle Scout for Akron Boy Scout Troop 74. He lived most of his life in Orlando, Fla., before moving to Georgia over 15 years ago.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bean.

Survivors include: his wife, Nancy Winslow Bean of Clayton and Newbury; a daughter, Kimberly Brastoff (Robert) of Newbury; and three grandchildren, Jared Bogan of Galloway, Ohio, HannaRose Brastoff and Rowan Brastoff, both of Newbury.

A private service will be held at a later date.
