Winnie G. Ledford, 88, of Clayton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at her home.

She was born in Rabun County to the late Raleigh and Nora Taylor Garland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Virgil P. Ledford; and brothers, Roy, Allen and Wayne Garland.

Survivors include: her daughter, Dianne Wall Lanier and husband Sid of Macon; two grandsons, Bryan Lanier (Sarah) of Macon and Brad Lanier (Amie); five great-grandchildren, Jake Lanier, Ethan Lanier, Morgan Lanier, Danielle Lanier and Caroline Bennett; three sisters, Lillian Hunter, Shannon Alley and Laney Brown; and many special family members.

Winnie was a member of Clayton Baptist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was retired from Clayburne Manufacturing Company.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Beck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronia Hunter officiating.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Regency Hospice, 350 S. Main St., Hiawassee, GA 30546; or to Rabun County Senior Center, 2832 Old Highway 441 S., Clayton, GA 30525.
