Peggy Ruth McCrackin, 75, of Lakemont, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at the residence of her daughter, Cindy Davis.

She was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Rabun County to the late Robert C. McCrackin Sr. and Lola Shirley McCrackin. She was a homemaker and was member of Joy Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: three brothers; a sister; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

She is survived by: her companion, Tom McCrackin of Lakemont; three daughters, Duchess Woodall, Cindy Davis and Wilda Atkins, all of Tiger; two brothers, Sam McCrackin and Will McCrackin, both of Lakemont; two sisters, Betty Thomas of Tallulah Falls and Edith Franklin of Lakemont; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Joy Baptist Church with the Revs. Charlie Hopkins and Thomas Burrell officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

The family asks that memorial donations be made to Hunter Funeral Home, P.O. Box 653, Clayton, GA 30525, to aid in funeral expenses.
