Grace Lenora Gragg Thompson, 87, of Lakemont, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

She was born in Rabun County to James Harley and Omie Free Gragg.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by: her husband, Dennis “Dent” Lee Thompson; a son, James Thompson; and two brothers, John Lewis Gragg and Edmon Gragg.

She is survived by a son, Terry Thompson of Flat Creek; a daughter, Patricia Thompson Addis and husband Clifton of Flat Creek; three sisters, Gertrude Lovell and husband Claude of Clayton, Elizabeth Epperson and husband Max of Canton and Janet Nichols and husband Dennis of Walhalla, S.C.; two sisters-in-law, Hope Gragg and Dottie Gragg; three grandchildren, Jamie Thompson and wife Kristie, Brian Addis and wife Donna and Brad Addis and wife Jennifer; five great-grandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Thompson was a seamstress for Clayburne Manufacturing. She was a lifetime member of Flat Creek Baptist Church, where she helped organize its first Bible school and also was involved in the building of the Flat Creek Community House. She devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her yard and attending to her beautiful flowers.

The funeral service was held Saturday with the Rev. Michael Rogers officiating. Burial followed at Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
