He was born Jan. 10, 1943, in Fulton County to the late James Lawson Jr. and Sallie Weaver Mobley. He was a self-employed flight instructor and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are: a son and daughter-in-law, James Lawson IV and Holly Mobley of Lakemont; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Len Putnam of Moreland; a sister, Betty Carroll of Fairburn; grandchildren, Emily and Lawson Mobley, Julie Ann Ramsey and Lensey Putnam; and a great-granddaughter, Lyla Dewberry.
A private service will be held at a later date.
