Coyt M. English, 77, of Clayton, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

He was born April 20, 1935, in Rabun County to the late Marvin and Della Nichols English. He was a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Survivors include: his wife, Imogene Hamilton English of Clayton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mike and Susie English and Gary English, all of Clayton; four grandchildren, Shandy Whitmire, Preston English, Nathan English and Gary English; his stepgrandchildern, Andy, Scotty and Selena, Aaron and Heather and Dustin, Levi and Zeke; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday at Persimmon Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Wright officiating. Burial followed at Timpson Presbyterian Cemetery.
