Funeral services for Louise Ellison Callam, 102, of Clarkesville, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 5, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, with the Rev. Lisa Graves officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Callam died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at a private care facility.

Born Jan. 31, 1910, in Habersham County, she was the daughter of the late George Matthew and Susie Trotter Ellison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Callam; sister, Catherine Logan; and brother, Rothell Ellison.

Mrs. Callam was a graduate of Piedmont College and a retired elementary school teacher with 39 years of service. She was a member of the Habersham County Retired Teachers Association and First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville.

Survivors include her sisters, Judy Ellison of Clarkesville, and Frances E. Burke of Cornelia; brother and sister-in-law, C.J. and Mildred Ellison of Clarkesville; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour today, Sept. 5.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville, 181 Jefferson St., Clarkesville, GA 30523.
