He was born Sept. 7, 1935, in Lakemont to the late Marlon and Wilda Nations Wilbanks.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilbanks was preceded in death by: his wife, Mary Westbook Wilbanks; a daughter, Pamela Wilbanks Christmas; three brothers, Stanford, Andy and Norman Wilbanks; and two sisters, Ethel Wilbanks Young and Nina Wilbanks Stephens.
Survivors include: three sons and a daughter-in-law, Ricky Wilbanks of Decatur, Barry Wilbanks of Jefferson and Jeffrey and Brenda Wilbanks of Loganville; extended family, John Whitfield of Murrayville; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers and a daughter-in-law, Hicks and Joyce Wilbanks of Lakemont and Bartley Wilbanks; six sisters and three daughters-in-law, Sallie Smith, Florine and Jess Wall, Lurlene and Jimmy Stephens and Mary Arthur, all of Lakemont, and Beulah Smith and Jewell and Arthur Speed, all of Clayton; a sister-in-law, Inez Wilbanks of Tiger; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were Nov. 14 at Wages & Sons Funeral Home in Stone Mountain. Burial followed at Melwood Cemetery.
