Clara Lavada Holt Hopper, 99, of Rabun Gap, died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Mountain View Health Care.

She was born May 28, 1913, in Rabun County to the late Andrew J. and Ada Missouri Kell Holt. She was a homemaker and a member of Head of Tennessee Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hopper was preceded in death by: husbands Robert Mason and Joe Hopper; a daughter, Maxine Arrendale; and three brothers, Claude Holt, Floyd Holt and Paul Holt.

Survivors include: a niece, Marie Chastain of Dillard; four grandchildren, Jean Foster of Otto, N.C., Rhonda Wilson of Cherokee, N.C., Rocky Gibson of Franklin, N.C., and Ricky Gibson of Mountain City; a sister-in-law, Edith Holt of Clarkesville; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Margie Harkins; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Head of Tennessee Baptist Church with Robert Maney and Jamie Chastain officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Franklin.
