Keith Tyra “Ty” Queen, 60, of Clayton, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Mountain Lakes Medical Center.

He was born in Rabun County to the late Lamon Oliver “Jack” Queen and Fay Knott McMullin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half brother, Kirk Queen.

He is survived by: sisters, Martha Jo Queen of Harrison, Ark., Nancy Young of Ellaville, Cheryl Swan and husband Dick of Evans, Merrie Queen of Wiley and Jan Heath of Ellaville; a half sister, Vicki Smith of Macon; two half brothers, Robi Queen of Perry and Jay Queen, also of Perry; and a close friend, Kim Hunter of Franklin, N.C.

Ty was raised in the home of his grandparents, Lamon and Juanita Queen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was employed as a retail clerk. He was a big Georgia Bulldog fan and liked to fish. He enjoyed sports and was an avid reader.

Funeral services were held Monday at Blue Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Madison McCrackin officiating. Burial followed at Blue Heights Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Ty’s memory may be made to the Gail Ramey Fund for the benefit of Elisha Ramey, in care of Rabun County Bank, P.O. Box 845, Clayton, GA 30525.
