Leslie Paul Owens, 59, of Clayton, died Thursday, July 18, 2013, in Walhalla, S.C.

He was born Nov, 6, 1953, in Rabun County to the late Wayne Lesley Owens and Annie Sue Chastain Owens. He was employed at Reeves Hardware in Highlands, N.C., for a number of years and was a member of Blue Valley Baptist Church.

Leslie is survived by: two daughters, Lorrie Holland (Joey) of Mount Airy, N.C., and Sandra Small (Scott) of Walhalla; three sisters, Margie Owens of Clayton and Carol Austin (Dave), both of Clayton, and Brenda Jenkins (Bobby) of Highlands; six grandchildren, Ian Holland, Austin Holland, Noah Nix, Morgan Clark, Haley Small and Gavin Small; two nephews, Kelly Dendy and Tyler Owens; and three nieces, Tiffany Owens, Misty Barnes and Jennifer Findley.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Oliver Rice officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with the Rev. Alton Dendy conducting the graveside service.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Hunter Funeral Home, P.O. Box 653, Clayton, GA 30525 to aid in funeral expenses.
