She was born Feb. 22, 1911, in Clarkesville to William John and Nancy P. Gosnell Evans. She lived most of her life in Rabun County. Mrs. Gragg was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church for more than 90 years. She played the piano for church services for many years, taught Sunday school for many years was a charter member of the Women’s Missionary Union. She and her husband worked diligently with the young people. She was a member of the Lakemont Homemakers Club. She was a nurse’s assistant and was employed at A.I.D. Corp. for many years and at Clayburne Manufacturing Company. She loved flower arrangements and needlework. Along with all these activities she was a homemaker. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Survivors include: a daughter; Judy “Betty” Gragg Justus of Clayton; a grandson, Randy “R.J.” Justus (Susie) of Lakemont; a great-grandson, Cpl. Austin Franklin (Brandy) of Camp Lajeune, N.C.; and a very special friend, Lucy Meggett of Clayton.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Flat Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Rogers and layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial followed at Flat Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Waymond Lunsford conducting the graveside service.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made in her honor to the Flat Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 1433 Low Gap Road, Lakemont, GA 30552.
