Lucky Joe Dills, 67, of Lakemont, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at his residence.

He was born in Macon County, N.C., to Hazel Dills, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by: his loving wife, Linda McClain Dills of Lakemont; two sons, Mark Dills of Wiley and John Dills and wife Donna of Eastanollee; a daughter, April Dills; three sisters, Nancy Wyke of Franklin, N.C., Ida Justice of San Angelo, Texas, and Nadine Martin of Bowman; and two grandchildren, Robert Dills and Christy Dills.

Lucky was employed for many years as a fixer at Burlington Industries and at Fruit of the Loom and was a member of Battle Branch Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who were the light of his life. He also enjoyed working at the Rabun County school system, where he was able to interact with all of the children who so dearly loved him. Lucky liked to travel and do yard work. He always made sure that his “Honey Do” list was completed.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Beck Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Madison McCrackin officiating.
