Tessie “Faye” Faye Coleman Waters, 81, of the Persimmon community, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014.

Faye was born Oct. 8, 1932, in Rabun County and lived her entire life here. She worked for many years at Empire Manufacturing Company, was a homemaker and a devout member of Clayton Church of God.

In addition to her parents, James Milford Coleman and Pearl Parker Coleman, formerly of Clayton, Faye was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Chester Waters. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Coleman, and a sister, Bennice Coleman English, both formerly of Clayton.

Faye is survived by: a sister, Bernice Coleman Gilstrap of Clarkesville; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Clayton Church of God with the Revs. Bryan Alexander and James Pendrey officiating. Our precious Aunt Faye was laid in her final resting place at the Persimmon Community Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Faye Waters’ memory can be made to Clayton Church of God, P.O. Box 1089, Clayton, GA 30525.

The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff at Mountain View Health Care, United Hospice, and a very special caretaker and friend, Erika English.
