Dorothy A. Goss Welborn, 85, of Tiger, affectionately known as “Maw,” died Friday, April 18, 2014, at Mountain Lakes Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Commerce to the late William and Rosa Vashti Robinson Goss. She was the widow of Jesse M. Welborn. She was a restaurant waitress and a seamstress and was a member of Tiger United Methodist Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Survivors include: a son, Leon Brown (Elizabeth) of Tiger; a daughter, Sherrie Crone of Clayton; a sister-in-law, Faye Welborn of Clayton; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Aubrey Blanton and layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial followed at Liberty Cemetery on Bridge Creek Road.
