W. Jesse Key, 58, of Clayton, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at his residence.

He was born March 30, 1956, in Franklin, N.C., to Helen McDowell Key of Clayton and the late William Joe Key. He was a master carpenter, a master Mason in the Fayetteville lodge and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of Blue Heights Baptist Church.

He is survived by: his mother, Helen Key of Clayton; three sisters, Betty Harp (John) of Fayetteville, Dottie Wall of Clayton and Brenda Jo Giles (Glenn) of Tiger; a nephew, Darrin Giles (Amy) of Tiger; and two great-nephews, Jarrett Giles and Reed Giles, both of Tiger.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Harvey Conner officiating. Burial followed at Pickett Cemetery.
