He was born in Grundy County, Tenn., to the late John Lawson Northcutt Sr. and Lucy Catherine Rust Northcutt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his loving and caring wife, Laverne Lesel Beck Northcutt in 2011; and a son, Randal Miller Northcutt.
Jim is survived by: two daughters, Denise Northcutt Newby and husband David of Rome and Sherie Northcutt Eubanks and husband Tommy of Brentwood, Tenn.; a son, Timothy Northcutt and wife Jennie of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Kathi Jones Stensland and Aundrea Jones Wilson and husband William, all of Locust Grove; a brother, John L. Northcutt. Jr. of Tucson, Ariz.; and 12 grandchildren, Michael Stensland, Eva Wilson, Nathan Wilson, Tara Newby Damico, Brandon Newby, Justin Newby, Jessica Northcutt Burgess, Ann Alyse Northcutt Barclay, Mackensie Northcutt, Mollie Northcutt, Kaitlin Eubanks and Hayley Eubanks.
He was a retired air traffic control supervisor with the FAA and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Funeral services were held May 1 at Battle Branch Baptist Church with the Revs. Madison McCrackin and Bill Gravley officiating. Burial followed at Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery.
