John Bradshaw, 87, of Clayton, died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Mountain Lakes Medical Center.

He was born March 8, 1927, in Yancey County, North Carolina, to the late Ralph and Mary Williams Bradshaw. He was a retired house painter for Clemson University. He served in the U.S. Army veteran during World War II and was of the Baptist faith.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: a son, Charles Bradshaw; a brother, Herman Bradshaw; and a sister, Faye Winchester.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mae Reed Bradshaw of Clayton.

The body has been cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is at the home.
