Stephen Albert Thompson, age 85, of Rabun Gap, passed away July 17, 2014.

He was born May 23, 1929. He was the son of the late Carley and Gladys Thompson and is also preceded in death by a loving brother, Austin.

  He served in the Army, attended Purdue University and he worked in the pump industry for 40 years in fluid hydraulics as a marketing and sales engineer.

  He is survived by his wife Joyce Darnell Thompson of the home in Rabun Gap, stepson Vancil Garner Jr. of Jupiter Florida, stepdaughter Mrs. Cami Hopper of Clayton, two step-grandchildren, Zackery and Adam Hopper of Clayton, two sisters, Anna Riggs of Sterling, Colorado and Carol Blunk of Sacramento, California.

At the wishes of Mr. Thompson, he was cremated and there will be no services.
