Clayton— The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia was founded in 1992 in an effort to end hunger in 14 counties. A facility came to Rabun County in 2008 and has since provided programs and resources to anyone in need, never turning anyone away.
The Food Bank has been at its current location, 46 Plaza Way, Clayton, since December 2015. “This Food Bank is kind of unique,” said James Brim, director of the Mountain Branch of the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, in a recent interview at the Food Bank.
He said this is because it has a teaching kitchen, commercial kitchen and production line, which is not typical of other food banks.
The Food Bank uses these amenities to provide educational materials and resources to help people in the community and surrounding areas.
