LAKEMONT-- The cause of a structure fire in Lakemont on Tuesday is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office, according to officials.

Rabun County Fire Services Stations 4,7 and 12 were dispatched to 1359 Camp Creek Rd. at 10:32 a.m.

“It was a multi-family dwelling,” said Assistant Fire Chief Justin Upchurch. “We had fire showing from the basement.”

Firefighters deployed two attack lines, one to the basement and one to the main living floor.

All occupants were out of the building when personnel arrived on scene.  One occupant was assessed by Rabun EMS but refused transport, according to a press release from Rabun County Fire Services.

Fire personnel were on scene until 1:42 p.m.
