Since 1897, Rabun County has been reading our pages for news and advertising. We want to thank you for your loyalty and support.
Pearl Harbor’s bombing on Dec. 7, 1941, and the horrific events of Sept. 11, 2001 caught America by surprise. So has this coronavirus outbreak.
In times of crisis, normal procedures are often replaced. The operation of your newspaper is no different. Your hometown newspaper will continue to cover the coronavirus and its impact here until there are no more coronavirus concerns in Rabun County.
During the battle against COVID-19, we will be publishing all virus-related articles on our website free of charge. Our goal is to keep Rabun County up to date with the most reliable information.
We believe strong newspapers build strong communities. In times like these, Rabun County must be stronger than ever. We need to show compassion for our neighbors. We should do whatever we can do to help, while obeying the safety guidelines recommended by our health officials.
We have made this difficult decision to close our lobby to the public for a time in the interest of public health and safety. But we are still publishing a newspaper, just as we have for over 120 years.

Rabun County is resilient, as is America. We will get through this by using ample amounts of prayer, ingenuity, flexibility, cooperation, compassion and determination.
The day will come when we can look back and say, "We survived this by working together."
