RABUN GAP— Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School’s theme for the 117th academic school year is “building one community” and newcomer Jeff Miles is looking forward to building a strong relationship with the Rabun County community and the students and faculty of Rabun Gap as the 11th Head of School.

He began the position on July 1, 2019 and succeeds Dr. Anthony Sgro, who served the school from 2011-2019.

Miles holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Mars Hill University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Michigan State University.

Coming from Christ School in Arden, N.C., a suburb of Asheville, after 18 years, Miles had experience as a lacrosse coach, teacher, Dean of Students and Director of Student Life, before he ended his time there as Assistant Headmaster.

Christ School is a preparatory boarding and day school for boys.

He said that his experience as a teacher helped him transition into the administrative role.
