'Sharing and Caring' to hold grand reopening this weekend

CLAYTON— Rabun County Sharing and Caring, a local nonprofit, is having its grand reopening this weekend in its new location on Plaza Way next to the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. It will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The organization moved after being at its location on Hiawassee St.

Rabun Senior Center set to reopen Monday

TIGER— The Rabun County Senior Center is scheduled to reopen Monday after a year of being closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. “We’re very excited to have our Senior Center family come back,” said Wanda Henry, Senior Center director. Business hours will be Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.

Dillard raising water rates to match RCWSA

DILLARD— Dillard City Council members voted unanimously to increase the water rate 4 percent at their meeting April 20. Glenda Enloe, city clerk, said that the rate went up because the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) increased their water price 4 percent.

TALLULAH FALLS-- A man fleeing law enforcement officers from the scene of a domestic violence incident caused a soft lockdown at Tallulah Falls School’s two campuses Tuesday.

Habersham Emergency Services, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, Tallulah Falls Fire and Police Departments, Rabun County Fire, Department of Natural Resources Park Rangers, HabSar on scene, and DNR Aviation responded to the incident.

TALLULAH FALLS-- A Blue Ridge woman fell to her death Thursday, April 22 in the afternoon at Tallulah Gorge State Park after apparently jumping from a ledge.  A call came in to 911 dispatch around 12:10 p.m.
